KANGHYUK

Korean label KANGHYUK was founded in 2017 by Kanghyuk Choi and Sanglak Shon. The two designers attended the Royal College of Art, with the label initially beginning as Choi’s master’s program graduation project. Upon graduating, they officially launched the eponymous label and quickly turned heads in the luxury streetwear industry. KANGHYUK pushes the boundaries of innovation, deconstructing everyday objects into high fashion garments. Taking a utilitarian approach to menswear, KANGHYUK is most famous for using airbags recovered from car wrecks as fabric for their clothing. This use of airbags gained the label much earned notoriety and recognition, finding celebrity supporters such as ASAP Rocky, who wore KANGHYUK in a 2019 music video. KANGHYUK explores material and sourcing on a while providing technical garments with a minimal, futuristic appeal.
